Description
Performs routine tasks on a game farm such as feeding, catching, counting and moving game.Tasks
Monitoring grazing and water supplies in different camps, and rotating animals between grazing areas as necessary.Patrolling camps to examine animals to detect illness, injury or disease and to check physical characteristics such as the rate of weight gain.
Patrolling grazing lands on horseback or on foot to check numbers and recent births.
Assisting movement of game from one location to another by herding them on foot or by using trucks or carts.
Participating in game captures to fulfil orders placed by buyers.
Marking game to identify ownership using brands, tags, paint or tattoos.
Segregating animals according to weight, age, sex and/ or physical condition.
Assisting in animal selection and capture for breeding programmes.
Cleaning holding pens and equipment.
Inspecting, maintaining and repairing basic equipment, buildings, pens, yards and game fences.
