Maintain cables, ropes and wires on construction sites, buildings or other structures.Tasks
Inspecting cables, ropes, wires, pulleys and other tackle for defects and damage and determining the necessity for repair or replacement.Adjusting and maintaining cable tension carriages in proper alignment.
Installing, repairing, lubricating cables and ropes and fitting attachments to cables and ropes.
Splicing fibre and wire rope slings necessary for the movement and placement of heavy equipment.
Supervising the activities of work crews assigned to making emergency repairs to cables.
Operating overhead cranes in connection with cable maintenance and repair work as necessary.
Working as part of a team with other artisans including especially Riggers.
